OUR FABULOUS NEW CY-DESIGN TEAM!!!
Let’s shout it from the rooftops! We have a brand new Design Team here at CY! Noella and I are pleased to welcome FIVE talented ladies to Creatively Yours!
Here they are, along with bios and photos so you can “put a face to a name!”
Hi my name is Ann and I’m very pleased to be a part of the Creatively Yours team. I’ve been married for 10 years and I’m a stay at home mom of two boys almost 6 and 9. They are the subject of most of my layouts. I live in Calgary, Alberta and there is no where else I’d rather be. I love being so close the the mountains. I’m a big history buff and have a degree in History. I’ve been scrapbooking for 10 years and making cards for about 6 years. I’m totally addicted. I love sketches as a starting point for creating. I love how one sketch can take on so many different forms. I’m on the design team at Savvy ‘n’ Sassy and I also sketch/design for SheetLoad of cards . I’m starting to dabble in photography and I’m hoping to take some courses in the fall. You can find me on my blog here. My Gallery is here.
Hi. My name is Misty Miller. I have been married to my husband, Dan, for 18 years. We have twin boys, Jacob and Caleb, who are 12 years old. We live in Greenfield, Indiana, and I teach students with learning difficulties. When we have the opportunity, we enjoy camping and hiking. I have always been into different crafts – sewing, cross-stitching, and quilting to name a few – since I was younger. I started seriously scrapbooking about 4 years ago when I was invited to a Creative Memories workshop at our church. I enjoyed scrapbooking so much that I kept going back to their monthly workshops. My style has certainly changed over the past 4 years. I look back at my first layouts and laugh. I am looking forward to being a part of the Design Team here at Creatively Yours!
Misty’s Blog is here. Enjoy!
My name is Rita Barakat. I have been married to my wonderful hubby for over 18 years. I am a stay at home mother of five beautiful children. We had two then were blessed to adopt three more. (Baby girl is in the pic with me.) I craft because I love it. I have always loved crafts and scrapbooking is a way to incorporate my love of crafts into an art form that others will treasure for future generations. I am so excited to be on the Design Team for Creatively Yours because I love sketches! I love looking at other people’s work, it’s so inspiring! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! I look forward to getting to working with Ali, Noella, the new DT and getting to know all of you.
Rita’s Blog is here and her Gallery is here . Enjoy!
5. Andi Dickson~
I live in Washington State with my husband and 3 children, Scott (8), Sierra (6) and Venice (1). Besides homeschooling, scrapbooking is how I choose to spend most of my time. I love the creative challenge, and I enjoy creating beautiful things. I feel like my style is often changing, and it’s usually fairly eclectic. I tend to be more modern and bold, as I don’t usually care for the vintage or romantic look. I also enjoy cooking, gardening and going to the gym! Andi’s blog is here . Her Gallery is here . Enjoy!
Thank you to ALL the scrappers who applied to our Design Team Call… your Sketch #14 entries were really super! We encourage you to apply when the next call goes out!
We also heartily congratulate Alison Thorne (June’s CY Guest Designer) and Jenifer Cowles (July’s CY Guest Designer). These upcoming guests were chosen through the recent CY-DT Call.

Guest Designers “Announcement” Redo
Hi everyone, I have decided to delete the original post that Ali and I have tried to fix..there were just too many errors.. So without further Ado:
Noella and I are pleased and very proud to present to you our four new Guest Design Team Members for the months of February and March 2009:
Ching Phillips
Lindsay Gannon
Karen Aldrin
and… Rowee Ortile!
Now let’s have a look at the “beauties” these ladies created for the CY-GDT member Contest, and learn a little bit more about each of them. Links to their Blogs are also provided! Be sure to check them out: a worthwhile activity if you like ideas galore!!
Without further ado, I introduce to you:
CHING PHILLIPS:
Ching’s Bio:
Hi, I’m Ching Phillips, a stay-at-home-mom, married to a wonderful man for 10 years. I have a 16 year old boy, who loves to attend weightlifting and wrestling at school. We live in the central part of Florida, USA where we enjoy the warm weather. I have been scrapbooking since 2004, when my sister introduced me to it. I became addicted when I started to join challenges in 2008 and won several prizes. I made mini-albums, designed greeting cards and altered projects for my family and friends. I love to make spread layouts with 2 to 4 photos per page. This is my first time as a Guest Designer and I am excited and honored to be a part of Creatively Yours as a Guest Design team member. Thank you for the opportunity!
Ching’s Blog can be found here.
LINDSAY GANNON:
Lindsay’s Bio:
I am so excited to be a Guest Designer for Creatively Yours! I am a SAHM and live in Maryland with my husband of six years, my four year old son, and twins – a boy and a girl, who are 18 months old. I started scrapbooking in high school, after I could fill my bedroom with not one more photo collage! I have been scrapping as a serious hobby for about 14 months now. I love having a creative outlet to turn to throughout my day. As a child, I loved reading journal entries my mom wrote about me. I see each LO as a little gift I am tucking away for my children to open someday – something that will help them see themselves through my eyes. My favorite supplies to use are ribbon, baker’s twine, Thickers, tiny alphas, pretty patterned paper, and Hambly screenprints. Here’s a link to my BLOG (still a work in progress).
KAREN ALDRIN:
Karen’s Bio:
Hi my name is Karen, I am 45, married with 2 grown up children. I live in England as a SAHM and we are renovating a large Edwardian house.
I have thousands of photos, going back
over a hundred years. My parents recently passed away and I found that a lot of our family history to go with them is lost. To ensure this doesn’t happen for my children, I am retying to catch up on decades of photographs.
I first saw scrapbooking in America. For many years I would go to Archivers and look in awe. Two years ago, I saw a scrapbook with embellishments in a shop, reduced. I bought it and have never looked back. (Particularly to that scrapbook! Ergh!) My style is very eclectic.. I love bright layouts with lots going on.
Everyone is amazed that all of my scrapbook stash is carried in a wheelie tote bag and a box. Check out my layouts on my Flickr site.
ROWEE ORTILE:
Rowee’s Bio:
Hi, my name is Rowee Ortile from the Philipines. I’m 7 years married with a very loving and supportive husband, named Terence. We are blessed with the prettiest, smartest, sweetest 6-year old gal who lights up our lives in ways we never thought possible. She was the reason I started scrapping, and she is also the reason I continue doing so. My sister Cel introduced me to this hobby. She provides me with the latest materials & scrapbooking mags. For the record, I can finish 5 LOs a day and still crave to do more! LOL! I love to use my dependable trimmers, scissors and Zip-E-Mate (Thanks Abby!) on my creations. My dream is to be published in a magazine. I also enjoy baking, cooking and blog hopping. My family is my inspiration. You can check out my creations here.
CONGRATULATIONS LADIES!
Thanks to all the wonderful entrants! Aren’t these pages beautiful?
We had many layouts entered in the Contest but of course could only choose four.
The above represent a variety of gorgeous styles and strengths, and we are thrilled to showcase these winning CY-Guest Design Team layout entries. Thanks for checking them out.
Look for their beautiful work in the next months right here at CY!
If you entered the GDT Contest, you know how much fun it was! Please feel free to enter next time, when we will host a contest seeking CY-Guest Designers for April and May 2009!
And now, for a little celebratory Ribbon RAK our wonderful visitors!

With Sad Hearts
With sad hearts, Noella and I must announce to you the passing of one of our valued Design Team Members, Beverley Todd. Beverley passed away during the Christmas season. Her family and friends will need your caring thoughts and prayers as they endeavour to cope with this very great loss. Beverley’s talented work here & elsewhere has been admired and enjoyed by many. I am privileged to share with you the last layout that Beverley created for this site. I am sure that Beverley would have wanted us to share it with you.
